Working together, from Worcester to Pawtucket, on watershed-wide priorities.
We’re working to ensure a healthier and more resilient Blackstone River Watershed by addressing our industrial past, ongoing urbanization, and the impacts of climate change.
The Blackstone Collaborative is a network of nonprofits, universities, businesses, and others who understand that a healthy watershed is vital to support the ecology, economy, and culture of the region.

48 miles. Over 40 municipalities and tribes. Two states. One watershed. One voice.
Formed in 2021, the Collaborative became a nonprofit in 2024. Learn more about our history, the Needs Assessment Report that prompted the creation of our Collaborative, and the type of work that we do - building capacity, filling gaps, cross-sector coordination, and providing technical assistance on diverse issues from water quality, recreational access, aquatic connectivity, and biodiversity.
“[The Collaborative] has become more and more of… a forum for the convergence of information, events, projects, and people. It's an amazing networking vehicle for the whole valley. And the fact that it crosses state lines is sort of unusual and cumbersome but wonderful.”
- Dr. David Tapscott, Uxbridge Board of Health and MVP 2.0 Liaison
